Workers’ Compensation Defense

obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Magna Cum Laude, from Loyola-Marymount University.

He received his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles, where he was on the Dean’s Honor Roll.

While in law school, Mr. Nelson worked as a private investigator and was instrumental in the investigation of high-profile fraud cases.

Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Nelson joined a well-known civil litigation firm. With his fraud investigation background, he was assigned to a group of attorneys specializing in the defense of fraudulent and suspectedly fraudulent matters. He was also charged with responsibility for overseeing the investigation in a major federal RICO lawsuit.

Mr. Nelson became involved in the workers’ compensation system at the request of clients because of his expertise in the handling of suspect matters. Additionally, Mr. Nelson has a subspecialty in the handling of complex litigation. In that regard, he has been called upon to handle some of his clients’ highest exposure cases.

Mr. Nelson has acted as a Superior Court arbitrator. He is also a certified mediator.

He is licensed to practice before all courts of the State of California. Additionally, he is admitted to the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
